Product Description
The essence of dwelling lies in satisfying human needs; its profound significance resides in its capacity to both reveal and shape one’s condition of existence, thereby endowing life with meaning and value.
Community entrance
A successful community plan must embody a distinctive humanistic spirit and a deep concern for people, anticipate shifts in lifestyles, address the multifaceted needs of individuals, and demonstrate respect for humanity. It should create a living environment that sustains human life while fostering personal growth, thereby providing a residential foundation that nurtures goodness and beauty. Ultimately, its goal is to achieve the most ideal and harmonious state of interaction—between humans and nature, among people, and with one’s own inner world.

Base Analysis. BASE ANALYSIS
The base is located in the southeast of Songling Town, Wujiang City. It is designated as residential land, with commercial and transportation uses to the north, residential areas to the west, and industrial land to the east and south.
✖ The Wujiang Bus Station on the north side of the site sees heavy pedestrian traffic, which is advantageous for commercial use but unfavorable for residential development.
✖ Aside from the scenic advantage of the Grand Canal on the eastern side, the site offers few usable resources in its surrounding area;
✔ The waterways within the base, as tributaries of the Beijing–Hangzhou Grand Canal, boast relatively clear water and constitute a usable landscape resource.

Planning and Design PLANNING
First, from the perspective of urban design, we leverage the site’s internal and surrounding green spaces and landscapes, and through a well-considered arrangement of buildings and their surroundings, we create a distinctive spatial organization and an integrated environmental landscape.
To achieve equitable urban development, the planning places emphasis on the organization of edge‑and‑corner spaces within the site, seeking to strengthen the visual and spatial connections between these peripheral residential areas, the cluster centers, and the community core through environmental design. At the same time, the environment is leveraged to shape the layout and form of the building clusters, thereby influencing residents’ daily lives.
Site Plan
Beyond differences in the physical environment—such as architecture and landscaping—the most significant distinctions among communities lie in their unique atmospheres and the quality of their public life. The vibrancy characteristic of high‑quality residential areas, along with a warm, tranquil, and elegant living ambiance, is precisely what contemporary community development so often lacks. And this, precisely, is… The essence of community‑quality development is also the goal we have consistently pursued throughout this planning and design process. 。
By paying close attention to everyday needs and details, we enhance the overall quality of the community from two perspectives: functionality and spatial design—both in terms of practical features and visual appeal and user experience.
In terms of its overall spatial configuration, the community adopts a hybrid model that combines semi‑open block‑based and park‑like elements: public spaces within the community are open to the outside, sharing the urban waterway landscape, while the internal neighborhood areas are managed under closed access, balancing integration with the city and ensuring the community’s own security needs. At the same time, each neighborhood is given a well‑defined spatial scale, fostering rich layers of spatial and visual experience and giving rise to a structural character that seamlessly blends streets and parks.
Internal roads of the residential community
The site plan is organized into large residential clusters, delineated by vehicular access roads and public landscaped pedestrian corridors. Each residential cluster adopts a multi‑layered, semi‑open enclosed space as its fundamental organizational principle. Through the staggered arrangement of buildings and landscapes, it creates an integrated whole that is both distinct and interconnected, unified yet dynamically varied. Moreover, it creates a spatial configuration characterized by enclosure without cohesion and diverse forms, fostering an overall spatial composition that is both flexible and orderly, with rich layers and complexity.
Landscape Design. LANDSCAPE DESIGN
A beautiful natural environment is the foundation for creating a poetic living environment.
In the planning and design of existing residential areas, the spatial organization of housing clusters is often treated separately from the shaping of the environmental landscape, with a sequential approach that places environmental design as a “supplementary follow-up task” within the broader master plan. Moreover, constrained by the layout of the housing groups, insufficient room and flexibility are left for environmental design, preventing it from fully realizing its potential to enhance the overall quality and aesthetic character of the residential neighborhood.
This plan fully respects nature, prioritizing the protection of the pristine natural environment and leveraging the site’s inherent landscape resources, with the aim of achieving an organic integration between the community and its natural surroundings.

Create a community green landscape that is close to and returns to nature, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding natural environment to foster a highly landscaped, ecologically sustainable, garden‑like neighborhood. Thoughtfully design the community’s “Sunshine Map”—a system of public open spaces that includes waterfront areas, plazas, landscaped parks, and other outdoor venues bathed in abundant daylight—encouraging residents to gather, socialize, relax, and enjoy leisure activities. Together, these spaces form the community’s “Sunshine Map.”
Partial Perspective of the Kindergarten
At the community entrance, landscape elements such as mature trees, bamboo, shrubs, flowering plants, and water features are thoughtfully integrated to create a spatial experience characterized by rhythmic density, varied heights, interconnected layers, and staggered planes. A linear landscape strip seamlessly connects with a central, concentrated green space, forming a leaf‑vein‑like, radiating landscape system that interpenetrates and flows into one another. Taking into account Suzhou’s climate, soil conditions, and other natural factors, the landscaping is tailored to the site, blending trees, shrubs, and groundcovers in a natural, harmonious manner. With a rich diversity of plant species carefully coordinated, the community offers ever‑changing greenery throughout the seasons, ensuring that each season brings its own distinctive visual appeal.
The whole In landscape planning, the principle of a gradual transition from private spaces to semi-private spaces and then to public spaces is followed. , which both enriches the space and enlivens the atmosphere while ensuring residents’ privacy.
Partial Perspective of the Garden Villa
The landscaping and the road network are seamlessly integrated, with winding paths that offer ever‑changing vistas as one walks. Landscape axes link the various focal points, forming a cohesive, unified spatial composition. Local earthworks create undulating topography, lending three-dimensional depth to the community environment and generating a rich hierarchy of vertical landscape layers.
