Product Description

As residents’ health awareness continues to grow, they undergo regular health check-ups to stay informed about their own health status. This renovation project involves the North Wing of the Municipal Hospital’s Health Examination Center.

Background Analysis BACKGROUND ANALYSIS

▪Location Analysis▪

The base is located in the Gusu District of Suzhou, on the southeast corner of the intersection of Guangji Road and Beihao Lane.

The site is immediately adjacent to the north inpatient building of the Suzhou Municipal Hospital, which has already been constructed.

▪ Design Condition Analysis ▪

This is an irregularly shaped plot of land, The total land area is 3,083.92 square meters. , with a total building footprint of 1,508.60 square meters, Total floor area: 4,525.20 square meters , of which the floor area subject to floor-area ratio is 4,423.71 square meters.

The medical examination building comprises two multi‑story structures: one is the outpatient observation building of Suzhou Third People’s Hospital, with a height of 18.140 m, built in 1986, and constructed of brick–concrete in four stories; the other is the outpatient department of Suzhou Third People’s Hospital, standing 7.430 m tall, dating back to 1954, and consisting of two brick–concrete stories.

Beneath a portion of the building on the west side of the health examination center, Metro Line 2 runs; while ensuring… Provided that it does not compromise the safe operation of rail transit, , after the orbital company engages a specialized department to develop the relevant protection plan and measures, the old building will be demolished, and then Rebuilt on the original site, with the original footprint and height. 。

The plan vividly articulates this dynamic spatial composition across all systemic levels, showcasing a freely unfolding spatial form, a well-balanced and flexible planning structure, and a contemporary hospital environment that harmonizes with the historic cityscape.

▪ Styling Design ▪

To highlight the unique architectural identity of the health examination center, both the overall style and the detailed design adhere to principles of modernity, innovation, and simplicity. The building is predominantly clad in white and gray, ensuring visual harmony with the existing structures in the East Wing of the municipal hospital and achieving a cohesive aesthetic.

The overall design adopts a calm and restrained approach, ensuring that each building façade maintains balanced proportions and harmonizes with the surrounding visual context, while the façades of individual volumes strive for simplicity and understatement.

Space Creation SPACE CREATION

A scientifically sound and well‑planned layout makes health‑checkup services more convenient and better optimized.

In addition to ensuring construction quality and a dynamic façade, the building’s comfort is maximized through factors such as ceiling heights, optimal natural lighting, seamless indoor–outdoor connections, and high‑end materials—all of which contribute to a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.

In addition to having dedicated staff accompany patients throughout the examination, the marble floor tiles in the health‑check building are clearly labeled to indicate the functions of each area. This thoughtful design and attentive service reflect a strong commitment to human‑centered principles and compassionate care.

The landscape is designed in a garden‑style layout, providing patients with a quiet, comfortable outdoor space and making the medical environment more relaxing and pleasant.
