Location Analysis
Weitang Town is administered by Xiangcheng District of Suzhou City. It borders Taiping Town and Yangchenghu Town to the east, Lǐkǒu Town to the south, Huang’an Town and Beiqiao Town to the west, and Xinzhuang Town in Changshu to the north.
This project is located on the north side of Aige Hao Road and the west side of Yu Pan Road in Weitang Town, featuring a modern architectural style that harmonizes with the existing buildings in the surrounding area.
Design Overview
The project covers a total site area of 8,035 square meters, with an excellent location and convenient transportation access. This phase involves the construction of a new factory building, which occupies a total footprint of 3,556.89 square meters and has a gross floor area of 12,624.49 square meters, including 12,082.39 square meters of floor area counted toward the floor‑area ratio and 542.10 square meters excluded from the ratio. The building’s height is 22.4 meters.
Design Concept
Antima Co., Ltd. specializes in the design and manufacture of custom-made cemented carbide cutting tools, serving the high-end manufacturing sector, with a primary focus on industries such as aerospace, automotive, defense, energy, and medical.
“A simple and functional factory building” is the guiding principle behind this design.
At every systemic level of the plan, this vivid structural composition is rendered with striking clarity, showcasing a freely unfolding spatial form, a well-balanced and dynamic planning framework, and a spatial environment that aligns with the technological workflow—thus articulating an aspiration for the distinctive creative atmosphere inherent in contemporary scientific and technological advancement.
Styling design
To highlight the distinctive architectural character of the factory building, the design—ranging from the overall style to the smallest details—adheres to principles of modernity, innovation, and simplicity. The entire campus is dominated by a white palette, accented with red metal‑aluminum panels that serve as the company’s signature color, aiming to infuse industrial architecture with fresh vitality. This approach ensures a harmonious and elegant color scheme that enhances the overall aesthetic.
The façade’s color scheme, calibrated according to the golden ratio, achieves a harmonious and elegant overall effect, embodying a minimalist, technological, and metallic architectural style.
The overall design adopts a calm and restrained approach, ensuring that each building façade maintains balanced proportions and harmonizes with the surrounding visual context. The façades of individual volumes are kept simple and unadorned, reflecting the distinctive aesthetic of industrial architecture.
“Balancing work and life”
The design of the aerial basketball court aims to transform the somber, enclosed spaces of the factory into an open, dynamic area—providing employees with a place to unwind while also serving as a platform for showcasing the company’s culture.
