Zhenhu is a time-honored small town in the Jiangnan region, nestled on the shores of Lake Tai. Known as a land of fish and rice, it boasts picturesque landscapes of lush mountains and clear waters, with exceptionally favorable natural conditions. Since ancient times, Zhenhu has upheld a cultural tradition of upholding both agriculture and scholarship within families; at the same time, it is also a nationally renowned home of Suzhou embroidery.

This primary school is located in Zhenhu Town, Suzhou High-tech Zone. Its original campus was built in 1914 and has a history of nearly a century. In 2012, it was recognized as “…”. Advanced School in Educational Technology and Equipment, Suzhou City ”。
As a new‑type campus planning and design, the architectural image should fully reflect its distinctive character, leverage natural landscapes, cultivate humanistic environments, and foster a campus culture that resonates with the spirit of our times.

Atrium
The design of the campus’s internal spaces emphasizes fostering a campus atmosphere of sharing and interaction. Courtyard-style enclosed layout This approach is well-suited to meet this need.

Multiple courtyards are connected by covered walkways, shortening the distances between teaching, administrative, residential, and athletic areas. This effectively reduces campus traffic, enhances students’ convenience, and improves the efficiency of various facilities.

Geometric composition arranged in a teaching cluster, With the north–south corridor serving as the architectural central axis, it links the individual building volumes. , forming multiple courtyard spaces that embody the spatial characteristics of Jiangnan garden architecture.

Landscape Design It plays a pivotal role in shaping the overall atmosphere, with the design integrating the existing outdoor spaces and articulating them through a plaza and an interior courtyard. Ranging from open to semi‑open, and from circulation to activities and viewing, these elements coalesce to form a cohesive landscape spatial system.

By leveraging the existing campus resources, we will relocate the Taihu rocks and select mature trees from the current campus to the new campus, ensuring the continuity of the landscape’s historical legacy.

The corresponding integration of the environmental space is achieved not only through Courtyard-style Its form subdivides the environmental space, and by incorporating communal corridors and aerial landscaped platforms along the circulation axis, it seeks to break away from the monotonous spatial organization typical of conventional campus buildings, transforming the school into… A place of attraction and learning enjoyment 。
