Award Update | Five projects from the Suzhou Construction (Group) Planning and Architectural Design Institute have been honored with the 2020 Outstanding Survey and Design Awards.

The 2020 Suzhou Urban–Rural Construction System Outstanding Survey and Design Awards have concluded. Following expert review, a total of 509 projects were recognized, including 118 first‑prize winners, 177 second‑prize winners, and 214 third‑prize winners. The list of awardees has been publicly posted on the website of the Suzhou Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau. Thematic Party Day | SCG-Archi Party Members Participate in Party-Building Activities

Recently, the Party Branch Committee of Suzhou Construction (Group) Planning and Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd. organized a themed study session, with participation from the company’s deputy director, department heads, and other officials. To commemorate the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, reflect on the Party’s glorious journey, and receive education in revolutionary traditions, the Party Branch held a thematic Party Day event in the conference room, marking the 98th anniversary of the Party’s founding and emphasizing the theme “Stay True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind.” First, Zhang Hao, the branch secretary, led all Party members in studying General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech at the work conference on the “Stay True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind” thematic education campaign. The meeting clarified the overarching requirements of this initiative: “Uphold our original aspiration, shoulder our mission, identify gaps, and ensure effective implementation.” Participants were encouraged to examine their own original aspirations—whether they have remained steadfast since joining the Party—and to pinpoint any gaps by comparing themselves against the Party Constitution and regulations, as well as against exemplary role models, while reflecting on their work and daily lives. They were then invited to consider whether, as designers, they have shouldered their responsibilities, carried out their tasks diligently, and consistently maintained the vanguard image expected of a Party member. Following the study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s key remarks at the thematic education conference and after hearing Secretary Zhang’s specific directives, Party members shared their personal understandings of “staying true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind,” drawing connections between these principles and their own professional and personal experiences. Under the leadership of Branch Secretary Zhang Hao, all Party members solemnly raised their right hands and reaffirmed their oath of admission: “I voluntarily join the Communist Party of China, uphold the Party’s program, observe its constitution… and am always ready to sacrifice everything for the Party and the people, never betraying the Party!” During the meeting, the branch secretary also guided everyone in installing the “Xuexi Qiangguo” and “Sugaoxin Party Building” platforms, encouraging Party members to use these resources to study theory, policies, laws and discipline, and exemplary cases, thereby striving to build a contingent of highly motivated learners. Looking back on the past evokes deep emotions; only by firmly remembering history and cherishing the present can we remain dedicated to our posts, strive for continuous progress, and endeavor to achieve extraordinary results even in ordinary positions.
